Our rafts and dories are oar-powered by our experienced guides. However, should the more “hardy” in your group desire an intimate relationship with certain rapids, they may enjoy one of our self-bailing, inflatable kayaks or muster a party for a paddle raft. Let us know and we can accommodate you and your group.
Whitewater Wilderness Adventure
We offer a wilderness adventure that can range from the truly wild, to a comfort level that could only be called a wilderness resort. Sleep in a tent, under the stars, or in a comfy lodge, it’s your choice. Or if camping isn’t your thing, we offer scenic floats, day trips, and overnighters.
We deliver the complete wilderness experience on our multi-day whitewater rafting trips. Your mornings will come alive to the aroma of fresh coffee brewed over an open fire. Enjoy your coffee and the peaceful river while breakfast cooks. Then our lunches will fill your belly, just in time to cool off in the river. When we get to camp for the day the guides will set up camp, prepare an appetizer, and start on dinner shortly after. Each day you will experience white water rapids along with leisure floating while we also stop for some great sight-seeing, pictographs, old homesteads, nice sandy beaches and much more.
North West River Expeditions (NWRE) is an experienced fishing and rafting guide company, running the river since 1976. Our headquarters are located in the tiny town of Salmon, Idaho. We specialize in multi-day trips down the Main Salmon River from North Fork Idaho all the way to Riggins Idaho. We start at the gateway to the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness area and float through the pristine Main Salmon River. We are a small float boating company by choice, priding ourselves on the excellent quality of our expeditions.
